I wasn’t surprised that the president wore a red and white diagonal striped tie for his big speech. It’s his lucky look. I’ve written about it before here and here

The look that I see on many women – tight leggings or jeans tucked into boots – is smoking hot. I know it’s not a new style or anything. To me it gives women a sexy, modern, and tough appeal. Like a superhero, witness below:

Fashion at the 2009 American Music Awards is probably better covered somewhere else but I did notice a few style trends. In fact I can boil it down to two recurring themes: one for each of the sexes (with Adam Lambert somewhere in there).

Glad that TV Guide noticed what I did last night on the Emmys….lots of glasses on celebrities. Including some who I’ve never seen spectacled like Jack Bauer. (I don’t have his picture yet. But cheers to 24’s President winning Best Supporting Actress)

I read somewhere that Pres. Obama was superstitious; he carries around several good-luck charms and ritually plays basketball on important days to help him relax.
I think another of his talismans is this red and white striped tie he wore last night to address Congress.

Helping the economy starts at home. Like how Obama buys 3 or 4 nearly identical red and white striped ties. The guys at Men’s Wearhouse must love him.
