I wasn’t surprised that the president wore a red and white diagonal striped tie for his big speech. It’s his lucky look. I’ve written about it before here and here

Thank you John Stewart. I’ve never liked Keith Olbermann. Even when I agree with his politics his smarminess gets under my skin. Lately he’s gone way off the rails and The Daily Show took note.
Obama will catch hell from both fashionistas and talk radio for wearing this shirt while hanging in Asia.
Besides being ugly and disco-shirt-shiny it has a mandarin collar. And on the Glenn Beck chalkboard Mandarin = Chinese = Commie! So might he really be that Manchurian Candidate warned about in the campaign? Programmed to turn America [...]
I read somewhere that Pres. Obama was superstitious; he carries around several good-luck charms and ritually plays basketball on important days to help him relax.
I think another of his talismans is this red and white striped tie he wore last night to address Congress.
It looks like the same tie he wore during the Inauguration, election [...]
This is actually a compliment. John McCain is being treated and coming across better than any recent presidential loser. He headlines late night talk shows, gets Grand Canyon interviews with George Stephanopoulos and has a voice and vote on current issues.
We can’t say the same for John Kerry, George Bush I or from back in [...]
Helping the economy starts at home. Like how Obama buys 3 or 4 nearly identical red and white striped ties. The guys at Men’s Wearhouse must love him.
